Private pay and insurance
These listed prices describe private-pay visits. They do not tell you what an insurance plan will cover, whether a deductible applies, or whether a particular appointment will be in network.
Kathie works with some insurance plans through Headway. Coverage depends on your exact plan and the specific appointment. Confirm current participation and your benefits before booking a paid visit.
- Is this specific appointment private pay or being billed to insurance?
- Is Kathie currently participating with my exact plan?
- What deductible, copay, or coinsurance could apply?
- If a visit is out of network, is documentation available, and what does my plan require?
Do not assume that reimbursement is available. Any estimate from a clinician or platform should be checked against your own plan’s terms.
What ongoing care could cost
The total depends on how many appointments you have and what other services or treatments are involved. The examples below use the listed visit fees only. They are arithmetic examples, not recommended schedules or a package price.
| Visits | Calculation | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Initial visit + 1 follow-up | $295 + $195 | $490 |
| Initial visit + 3 follow-ups | $295 + (3 × $195) | $880 |
| Initial visit + 6 follow-ups | $295 + (6 × $195) | $1,465 |
Ask how frequently follow-up might be needed in your circumstances and when that frequency would be reviewed. This helps you consider whether care is financially sustainable.
Clarify what the fee includes
The prices above are for the stated appointment lengths. Do not assume they include prescriptions purchased at a pharmacy, laboratory work, outside testing, another professional’s care, or Chasing Cali services.
Ask whether clinical messages, paperwork, longer appointments, or separate therapy sessions carry additional fees. The format and cost of any service beyond the listed visits should be clear before you agree to it.
A standard 30-minute follow-up should not be understood as a separate, full-length therapy session in addition to medication management. Discuss the service you are seeking and how it is scheduled.
Questions worth asking before booking
- What is the current payment process, and when is payment due?
- What is the cancellation or rescheduling policy?
- What happens if I need more time than the appointment allows?
- How are between-visit questions handled, and are there fees?
- Can I receive a written estimate of the expected charges for my care?
- Are there additional costs I should plan for?
Raise these questions during the free introduction or through the practice’s scheduling process. The website should help you prepare; the current written practice policies should confirm your specific arrangement.
